ACFE Pre-accredited Courses


This is one of most popular courses and we have a wonderful, experienced trainer to help guide you. You will learn a basic understanding of what is required to be a good barista.
You will have practical hands on experience  where you will be able to identify OHS issues, hygiene practices, know how to work in a safe manner, identify and use a range of barista equipment and tools and know how to make several types of coffee.

FEES:                 $70.00 (BYO lunch)

During the course you’ll build up a portfolio of samples that may help you gain paid or volunteer employment, start your own home-based business, or go on to study for a Certificate III in Fashion Design and Technology, Certificate III in Clothing and Textile Production or a small business course.

A chance to try a lot of art and crafts!

A special ‘come try 'arts and crafts course that will allow you to gain practical skills in various art and craft workshops. You will produce a variety of different items and learn various techniques that can include, drawing, acrylic pouring, textiles, digital technology printing, screen-printing, even a cooking session (learning to cook for yourself on a budget) and floristry. You will be taught by qualified and practicing local teachers/artists in this exciting opportunity!  

This course will run  at various times of approx. forty hours over two terms.

This course will include practical and theory based activities. You will become familiar with a broad variety of topics covered including an overview of nature, plant ecology, birds, insects, animals, fungus, soil and geology. You will develop essential knowledge, understanding and appreciation of our natural environment in a great learning experience but also in enjoyable sessions that will get you outside and into our wonderful habitat

You will be on location in Scarsdale.

The course focus is on developing more advanced skills in environmental studies following the Introduction to Natural Environmental Studies Level 1 course. The course provides a practical learning experience through theory and extensive field trips on location with hands-on activities. It will cover a broad variety of topics covered including an overview of nature, plants, ecology, birds, insects, animals, soil, geology, bark and leaves, weeds and pests, fire, and water resources.

Learn the principles of “Permaculture & Horticulture” with hands on learning. This course can provide you with basic work-related skills relevant to work in the Horticulture sector, or help you if you have an interest and desire to learn more about horticulture and permaculture and how you can incorporate the principles at home.
It is an introductory course that leads into the accredited horticulture Certificate courses. It can help you decide what certificate course is right for you, or if you want to take on further studies or not. It is also great for those who are returning to study as adult mature age students who may be thinking of undertaking further studies on these subjects. Pre accredited courses are gently paced and ease you back into study in a fun way. This online course will cover the fundamentals of mycology, identifying and cultivating fungi, human uses for fungi and land management with fungi. The course will be available in modules for people who only want to take part of the course; everyone who attends any part of the course will have access to the pathways in mycology module. Classes will be live and recorded for people to re-watch later. Discounted practical sessions in identification, cultivation and lab techniques will also be available depending on interest and COVID safety. 

We are running the course  together with our partner organisation MYCOmmunity Applied Mycology ( which is a community group that does awareness-raising, training and research around fungi.
