JOBS CLUB/CAREER GUIDANCE

The “Skills and Jobs Centre” and the “Haddon Community Learning Centre” brings you the Community Jobs Hub (CJH) present two sessions available on the first Wednesday of the month, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm starting in March 2022.

So if you are looking for a new job, thinking of a career change, looking to update your resume, or are not sure where to start when choosing an education pathway; why not make a FREE one-on-one appointment with a Career Development Practitioner at the CJH? The CJH is staffed by qualified Career Development Practitioners and are designed to assist and develop participants who are hoping to enter/re-enter the workforce.
CJH is delivered by the Skills and Job Centre in partnership with the Haddon Community Learning Centre and is intended to support the community with all employment, education and career pathway enquiries.

Topics that can be provided are:

  • Resume Builder
  • One-on-one consultations
  • Job Search ~ Tips and Tricks for Looking for Work
  • Job Applications – how to tailor your application to the job
  • One-on-one consultations
  • Selecting the Right Training for Your Dream Career ~ (get expert advice about Career Pathways, Free TAFE & Job Trainer and
  • understanding eligibility and funding.

If you need assistance at other times then call to advise and we can organise an appointment with the advisor.

* FREE I-PALS PROGRAM – A NEW DISABILITY TRAINING PROGRAM

The Independent Pathways and Living Skills (I-Pals) Program is designed to bring people with a disability (aged 18+)together to build skills, confidence, and independence. The program encourages participants to share, learn and grow whilst making new connections and friendships. All people with a disability are welcome, with or without an NDIS plan. It is FREE to attend.
This program will start Thursdays in late January 2022 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Haddon Community Learning Centre, 396 Sago Hill Rd., Haddon and is limited to 10 people.

By participating in this program, participants will:

be encouraged and supported to speak up for themselves
be given opportunities to grow their confidence and improve their self-esteem
have access to information and resources to help with decision making and problem-solving
develop greater independence and the ability to make new connections in their local communities.

LITERACY AND NUMERACY ASSISTANCE

Do you need help with your reading, writing or basic mathematic skills? Then come have a private chat with us. We can help with session to build your literacy and numeracy skills. This help is particularly suitable for those who have always struggled or experienced interrupted schooling/education and who now wish to make a change to improve their skills to assist in gaining confidence that can help with further employment and study opportunities.
