Fancy a game of scrabble, chess, cards, sequence, other board games?

We would like to get a weekly games club gathering going at The Haddon CLC.

While the obvious reason for playing games is simply “they’re fun”, it’s a great way to stimulate your brain and make connections with new people. We’re thinking Monday afternoons, but if you have a group of friends who want to play – we’re open to different times too.

Card and board games offer many benefits with some unique advantages:

    • Cognitive Skills: Games like chess, Scrabble, and bridge require strategic thinking, planning, and memory, which can enhance cognitive abilities.
    • Social Interaction: Playing card and board games often involves face-to-face interaction, which can strengthen social bonds and improve communication skills.
    • Stress Relief: These games provide a fun and engaging way to relax and unwind, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
    • Problem-Solving: Many board games involve puzzles and challenges that require creative and logical thinking, improving problem-solving skills.
    • Emotional Well-being: Winning a game can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment, while losing teaches resilience and sportsmanship.

We’ll supply the location, tea and coffee, and the games.
