We have another great new activity kicking off at The Haddon CLC in 2025 – Pilates!

We have two different class times, one on Monday afternoon (2pm to 3pm), and another on Tuesday evening (6pm to 7pm)

Our professional and highly experienced instructor (Jennie) provides an adult community-focused class conducted in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.  Just Mat Pilates is reasonably priced, has flexible attendance expectations, and aims to address everybody’s WHOLE body.

Did you know that Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, a German physical trainer. Originally called “Contrology,” Pilates aimed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture through controlled movements. Joseph Pilates developed his method during World War I, using it to rehabilitate injured soldiers.

In the 1920s, he moved to New York City and opened a studio, where his techniques gained popularity among dancers and athletes. Pilates’ method emphasizes core strength, mindful movement, and breath control, making it a holistic approach to fitness. Over the decades, Pilates evolved, incorporating modern exercise science and equipment like the Reformer and Cadillac.

Today, Pilates is practiced worldwide, known for its benefits in enhancing body awareness, improving posture, and promoting overall well-being. It remains a popular choice for people of all ages and fitness levels, offering a balanced workout that strengthens both body and mind.
