We are hoping to establish a regular monthly Food Swap here in Haddon! A community food swap is less about “buying and selling” and more about changing-up your pantry while building local connections. When these get up and running they can be awesome.

We are aiming for the last Friday of every month – 10am to Noon. So the first one is going to be Friday March 27 at 10am.

We’re also going to run a free worm farm and composting workshop straight after this get together – totally optional but something that might be of interest. We’ve got plans for having all sorts of sessions during the year straight after the food swap.

So what could you bring along? Just ideas …
Garden Excess: A kilo of zucchinis, bundles of kale, eggs, or surplus lemons.
Home-Preserved Goods: Jars of spicy pickles, strawberry jam, or fermented sauerkraut.
Kitchen Creations: Loaves of sourdough, homemade granola, or fresh pesto.
Seeds & Starts: Seedlings or packets of saved heirloom seeds.

We’ll set up tables and be all ready to go – we want to create something that’s friendly and welcoming for all.

Drop in for 5 minutes, 20 minutes, or stay and have a tea or coffee.

If you’d like to get a reminder – shoot a note to rick@haddonlearning.org.au and I’ll put you on the garden mail list.
