Every year, millions of brand-new clothing items go to waste, while at the same time, thousands of Australians experience hardship without access to essential clothing. Thread Together exists to bridge this gap—delivering dignity and hope, one outfit at a time.
The organisation was created in Sydney in 2012 to donate unsold clothing instead of disposing of it. This initiative helps people in need and protects the environment by reducing landfill waste. Thread Together was launched in the Central Highlands region in 2021 – working with CAFS with a hub in Ballarat – and the Thread Van was introduced in 2023.
The Thread Van will be setting up outside The Linton Emergency Relief Pantry next Thursday (27 November) at 11am. The Thread Van is part of the Thread Together charity.
